I have Radial Tunnel Syndrome in the right arm and I’ve had attacks of Tennis elbow in the left. Have a Doc check it out. One possibility is a Cortisone shot, but PT is the other thing to do. Here are 3 exercises that I was given.
1 - Stretch out the offending arm with your hand pointing down. Use the other hand to gently press the wrist down for 30 seconds. It’s a stretching thing and should be done first. Do this 3 times each morning.
2 - Holding a small weight (can of soup is great) put your arm on a flat surface with your wrist hanging over the edge. Lower and raise your hand 20 times. Do once a day.
3 - Using a thick piece of dowel rod, tie a small (1lb.) weight to the rod. You want enough rope that the weight just hits the floor when you stretch your arms straight out from your body. Roll the weight up and then slowly roll it back down. You get the benefit going both ways. Do this as many times as you can and increase as you get stronger. This sounds easy, but wait till you get to the 7th or 8th one your first time.
I also wear the pressure pads on both arms and use soft wrist braces on both sides. I haven’t yet gotten very good casting with my left arm, but I do do all of my high sticking for Steelies with my left. It sure saves me when I’m using the big rod.
