Tenkara Book Recommendations

I didn’t know if I should post this here or on the tenkara board. Hope this is OK here.

I have a friend (really, I have a friend) who has done some fly fishing but is still pretty inexperienced. He has just gotten his first Tenkara rod. He has a birthday coming up and I would like to get him a book of tenkara tips and techniques. Any suggestions on a book for the beginning tenkara fisherman? Thanks.

You might have gotten more traction on the Tenkara board, but here are some that are available through Chris Stewart aka Tenkara Bum. http://www.tenkarabum.com/tenkara-books.html

Royce,

If your friend belongs to FAOL have him go to the Main page and do a search using Tenkara. There are 55 references in that search and some of them contain some great information.

Personally, I am seriously considering buying a Tenkara rod just to give it a try on certain portions of some of the rivers I fish.

Howabout this one: http://www.amazon.com/Dapping-Exciting-Fishing-Flies-Quiver/dp/0811701425/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1417719538&sr=8-1&keywords=dapping+fishing?

Just kidding (a little bit anyway). Yvon Chouinard (founder Patagonia) just came out with a book that has been getting good reviews that would be a good starting point: http://www.amazon.com/Simple-Fly-Fishing-Techniques-Tenkara/dp/1938340272/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1417719581&sr=8-2&keywords=tenkara.
