Tap's Bug, for more than 50 years its been catching bass!

Tap’s Bug is an easy to tie and amazingly effective spun deer hair bass bug. The step-by-step instructions to tie this important warm water fly are now posted at http://www.flyfishohio.com. I will have the Windows Media and the Quicktime media loaded tonight. The video is 12:30 long, so dial-up users beware. Spinning deer hair just takes a bit longer than tying a nymph, so the file size is correspondingly longer.

I will update the xml code tonight as well, so if you use these fly tying instructions with iTunes or on your iPod it should be back to automatically downloading by Saturday.

Let me know what you think and if there are any patterns you’d like me to feature in the 2007 season. The upcoming patterns for the rest of this year include the Skykomish Sunrise - a beautiful NW steelhead pattern, and the Light Spruce - a traditional northeastern streamer pattern.

Tight lines and clear water…
