The theme for the October swap is Attractor Patterns. We all know of a fly that doesn’t look like any specific food item, but draws fish like a flashing blue light at a K-Mart. Classic patterns, like Mickey Finns, Royal Coachman, Zug Bug or many others are great, as are modern paterns. If you can’t find one you like, feel free to invent your own.
Here’s the list. Let me know what you are tying, and I will add your fly to the list.
All flies are here. I will be mailing them out on Friday.
Thanks for making this a fun swap!

I’ll pm my address as we go along. I have my sunglasses ready to do the sorting, and I am looking forward to this colorful swap.
I will tie a Grumpy Frumpy #14. This fly was designed by Clark Pierce and although i have never used this fly before , here in Utah it seem to have a good reputation. so what better excuse than this swap to give it a try.
ben.
Yellow Sally will work just fine. So will either the Diawl Bach or the Red and Black Nymph.
Looks like lots of cool stuff being done for this one. I’ll get the patterns posted sometime tonight. All heck busted loose at work this weekend, and we are putting in fourteens until we get things straightened out and caught up. I am on a short break now, but I have to go work another shift this afternoon and evening. I’ll tidy up the thread as soon as I get home.
I would love to get in on this with a Royal Coachman, Dry. I have never done a swap before. I don’t even know what they are, but it sounds interesting. What are the ground rules?
Never having tied one of these before. I looked up the Yellow Sally pattern online, including this website, and was dismayed at the number of different patterns called 'Yellow Sally, with the only common feature being that somewhere on the fly, the color yellow was used.
Not knowing which one was the original pattern, I opted to use the one listed on Orvis’s website. After all, if Orvis says it’s right…who am I to argue?
Here’s what I came up with. It’s on a #14 dry fly hook:
