BTW, standard protocol is for the swapmeister to keep any and all extras. I didn’t state that specifically in my package, but be sure to put the leftovers into your pile. Future swapmeisters take note as well.

I had a slight medical change of plans. I still have to tie three more flies. I won’t be able to tie them tomorrow, so I will have to mail them on Monday. I will either mail them priority, or overnight express. Whichever one works the best forthe swapmaster. (the local P.O. doesn’t have desk hours on Saturdays)
They will be coming in from Michigan. They should still get in on time, but it will be closer than Ilike.

Four days to the deadline. It’s not written in stone, but let’s at least make an effort.
I know there are many sets on the way in the mail, UPS, etc…, but I have only physically received 3 sets so far, plus my own, which have been completed for quite a while. If you haven’t got them done, it’s time to get cracking. Anyone who hasn’t told me they are on the way, please let me (and the other swappers) know when we might expect them.
Judging from what I’ve already received, this is going to be a great swap.

If you will all check the first post, where the participants are listed, you can see the status of each, listed right after the pattern name. Names without any entry after the pattern means that I have not heard from them as to their status (or I’ve messed up and forgot to enter it). My last post was for them. It was just a reminder we’re getting close to the end.

I want to thank Cathie for tryng to check in on the board and look things up for me. I couldn’t get internet access, or cell phone. She also posted a message for me. I’ll have to teach her the difference between a Fishing Lure and a Fly, but I think I’ll keep her.
I had to do a change ofplans, as she brought me the bag of materials I told her to bring me, but I didn’t have the right materials for the flies I was tying in the bag. I had to invent a pattern based on the materials available and tie a fly from them. Since creativity was the theme, I may still qualify. (For a brief second, I thought I was going to have to tie a fly with items found in the hospital, but I was able to call a local fly shop and have them get me some hooks and a few odds and ends. Cathie was able to pick them up on her way in to visit.

Oh! I tied what I call the Peacock Hypnosis nymph. Gold BH, peacock ice dubbing for body, peacock sword for little tail and green ultrawire ribbing. The brookies are absolutely mesmerized by it…hence the name.
