No one has jumped on the Elk Hair Caddis, yet? I’m really surprised. I thought that would be the first chosen. I could be cheesy and pick it, but I’m not. Waaaaay too simple.
I want to do a new (and somewhat strange) pattern called the TTFU (The Thing From Uranus). It is definitely off the beaten path. I’ll do it on a size 8 streamer hook.
I’ll post pics as soon as I get one tied correctly. You’re gonna love this.
Bill,
Jean had to go a baby shower yesterday and took Her Truck, My truck’s AC has a leak and it was too Da#* hot to go anywhere and the Tiger’s are playing bad ball, So I had to do something;)
I need some help on this one guy’s. I have plenty of material but not a clue on what to do with it. I just seem to have hit a wall lately on pattern’s and feel like I’m in a rut. Can someone suggest a pattern or idea? Thank’s.
How about a Yellow Sally? HooK 14 to 16 Standard Dry, Thread: 6/0 Yellow, Body and Underwing: Yellow Zelon (or sub), Overwing: Bleached Elk Hair dyed Yellow, Hackle: Rooster saddle or neck dyed yellow or ginger hackle. This is a Fly of the Month from R&R Fly Fishing. Or, a Sedgehammer variation, caddis hook size 14 or there abouts, body green tinsel wrapped from the bend forward, Elk Hair (or deer) wing, throax / head dubbed over the wing in grey.
