Hi Everyone,
I just started stripping the varnish using citristrip and as I wait for it to work, I realized that I dont know how to actually use this stuff:
How do I put it on?
How do I take it off?
Please help
Rawfish, When I used it, I left it on just long enough to start bubbling then scaped it off. Kinda messy, then went over it with alchol to finish it. Leave it on too long it could affect the glue on blank. I have now switched to just using alchol with an old t-shirt. Takes a little bit of elbow grease, but I feel more comfortable. Hope this helps 8)
I pour some on a rag and give the rod pieces a visible coat. an hour later I scrape it off w/ a green pad. works like a charm.

I use the citrus stripper as well, and much the same as Mr. Blur. that is one of the safest strippers to use on bamboo rods as it won’t penetrate and impact the glue lines. Still yet, it is always better to be safe than sorry. Like Clyde, I use a lot of alcohol when I am stripping a rod, especially if it is a rod that may have some value at some point in it’s life…(guess they all do that though don’t they).
