Super Hair/Same As

Is Super Hair the same as Krystal Flash? I was going to tie some of Charlie Craven’s Jujubees.

If you want something a little bit thicker try Ultra Hair; similar texture and color selection.

Hi Scott:Wpould it give me the same effect for the Jujubee midges? I don’t know because I’ve never used ultra or super hair.

For the smaller flies, Super Hair would be a better choice. For some of the bigger ones I tie (#14-16) the Ultra Hair seems to work okay. Since I already had a lot of Ultra Hair in different colors for saltwater files, I figured I’d give it a try and was happy with the results.

supreme hair is another name for the ultra/super hair materials

Spirit River (and probably others ) has ‘unique’ hair which is a softer version of super hair. Its like synthetic bucktail. Nice kicker legs on deer hair frogs.

Make sure you are using white thread for the tie-in , it really makes the ribbing colors jump out. You can also use flashabou or similar tinsel then wrap over with the hair. best, heinrich
