I am looking for a good sulphur emerger pattern for use in north central pa. Does anyone have one they would be willing to share?
Color as needed to fit your local hatch.
tail - mallard flank
body - Fly Rite’s pale watery yellow or olive sulphur dubbing
hackle- feather from shoulder of mallard wing
another -
tail - woodduck
body - Orvis’s sulphur dubbing
hackle - same as above
i use these 2 emerger patterns on the Big Pine in Slate Run area
Barr Emerger
I’ve had great luck using Potter’s River god emerger
Hook TMC 101 or 100
Thread Yellow 8/0
Tail woodduck flank under rust zelon
abdomen light yellow dubbing
wing buds Grey zelon, or dun CDC
thorax brighter yellow dubbing
Here’s two that work for me:
Tie this one on a hook size larger than the adult.ie size 16 adult is tied on a size 14 hook.
