Tail - Woodduck, mallard etc
Body - Deer hair - may be tied sparser than shown

Neatly done. But Mr. Young did like a more raggedy look- felt that it more closely mimicked a caddis case.

yup. i tied it a little heavier but covered that in the recipe but ive seen the tie both ways

Thanks for posting this one Norm. I had kind of forgotten about it. I added two of them to a stocking stuffer fly assortment for guy who lives near the Little Manistee. That river is almost the definition of the small wooded stream they’re meant for.
