STOCKING AGAIN

It is another opportunity to get out and spend some time putting a line in the water. Not that I really need an excuse to do that. I had promised another person that I would get some fish and put in their pond. The pond had winter killed off. He had pumped the water out of the pond and cleaned the bottom out. There was about six feet of dirt in the bottom that had washed in. Rain has filled the pond again and there is a need for fish to go into it.

Hi Rick,

Good job. It is great to stock more ponds with fish.

Regards,

Gandolf

Never a bad deal to get fish in a spot for kids!

Good deal but only if after a careful check of fishing regulations. Many states do not allow this at all while others such as Washington regulate state managed waters. Unfortunately with far too many scientists they do not consider the motivation factors of such a restocking effort nor the motivation and recreation for the kids that participate in the effort or afterwards, just catchign fish. When we were kids back in Ohio at least once a year a fwe fishing trips were made restocking ponds and stream stretches. A heck of a lot better activity for kids over watching tv! Good article!
