Steve's Hare's Ear SBS

The cat skinned, Kiwi style.

hook - Mustad 3906B #10
thread - Danville 6/0 black
tail - woodduck flank
rib - small wire copper
body - dubbing hare’s ear
bead - 1/8" copper
hackle - partridge
wing - woodduck flank

Part 1

mash barb, slide bead on hook; jam some non-tox into the back end, leave about 1 eye width free in front of bead

start thread; tie in rib, wrap to bend

measure (shank) some woodduck fibers; tie in

dub thread/dub body

counterwrap rib, helicopter end, cover with thread; tie off/trim thread

Part 2

re-start thread in front of bead, tie in partridge by tip; wrap, tie off/trim

prep woodduck, measure (tips to tail)

tie in/trim, whip finish, SHHAN
