I just received my new issue of “Flyfishing Saltwater” magazine, and when I saw the ad for Sterling boats that shows the guy running real shallow, and close to the guy in the canoe, I was ticked off that they tout “No More Prop Scars”, but yet they promote the kind of behavior that gives flyfishermen a bad name in my view.
Anybody else see the ad and feel that way?
Take it you haven’t seen the 4 pages of comment on the Florida Sportsman Forum explaining how the ad was staged. Great PR to say the least just to sell boats. Not really any inferences to flyfishers! 8)
That’s true, no inference to flyfishers, and I did read the post on the FS forum, alot of which were negative. I know that I would not buy a boat from them, but that’s just my way of thinking. Oh yeah, that and I couldn’t possibly afford one!! LOL
I was amazed that Flyfishing Saltwaters would take on an add like that. It goes against everything the conservationists and flats protectors who write in that magazine have been touting for years.
