Not that we need another one. I also understand that the vise one uses is highly personal. I presently use a Renzetti traveler, wanted a standard vise because of the angle, thinking it would be better. Having a choice between an HMH and a Dyna King supreme I was amazed at the reviews I received and read. SOme say the HMH is what God uses when He ties flies, at least when His law is not around. Some say the HMH has problems with loose knobs and is difficult to adjust. As to the Supreme, mostly good but some say the HMH has easier hook access. So I ordered one of both. I will know for myself soon enough. Chances are I will like them both, espeially when I put the midge jaws on the Supreme. If my HMH has no mechanical problems I will likely love it from what I have heard. Maybe I will just become a vise collector.
I have the HMH. I like it. I wore out one set of jaws on it, they seem kind of soft. I like the ease of use, but if you have to send it back to be fixed you will be waiting. They did fix some problems that were probably my fault. I cranked down the table clamp so hard that I bent the brass screw, they replaced that for free. I tried a Renzetti and I didn’t like it that much. I think my next vise will be an Abel.
I guess I must be a collector. I have 2 Regals, a Danvise, a MPV, a Griffin, an old stamped-steel Weber, and an old Herter’s around here somewhere. And there are a few more I’d like to play with, namely, a Thompson Cobra, a Vosseler, a C&F Designs, etc…
