Looking for instructions on tying the Stacked Blonde.
Mentioned in Modern Streamers for Trophy Trout as a must have, but the tying instruction leave a lot ot be desired.
Trying to understand how Galloup’s method of tying in the marabou and the relationship with the bends in the keel hook result in the broad profile. The keel hook is, so far, impossible to find and I’d like to try to achieve the same effect using a traditional hook.
Oh, a search by name brings up a lot of non work friendly sites.
I’ve used a Mustad 902335 Kink Shank Popper hook. I believe I bought these from Cabela’s but, they are not listed in their Fly-Fishing catalog. I orignally found it in a Mustad "The Best Hooks for Fly Fishing pamphlet.
Thank you both.
Someone is going to send me a couple of hooks so I’ll try bending to match. Can’t find that 902335 either.
Strange, that I didn’t hit that site on my search and I worded it several different ways.
Next is the “Butt Monkey”, but I’ll leave that for another day. I can only take so much of those kind of searches.
This may be worthless info for you and if it is, just ignore it. “trout1” stated he tied this pattern on a Mustad 902335 Kink Shank popper hook but could not find them anymore. I purchase all my hooks from [url=http://www.HookHack.com:4cf51]www.HookHack.com[/url:4cf51] and they carry the Mustad 33903 popper hook, 1XLong, Heavy wire, Double S hump in sizes 2 thru 12 for $5.75 per hundred hooks. They are a Sponsor here and they do give a discount plus excellent service.
