Been working on my Spring Fly Box over Christmas. I’ve got a touch of cabin fever! Supposed to be 60 degrees here New Years Day…taking the whole family for a picnic and fishing!
I remember catching bluegill and bass on popping bugs the week between Christmas and New Years about 150 miles north of you. Those are some good looking bugs, I really like the hopper type, they cast some much easier with a 3 or 4 wt. I like to fish something that sink as a dropper. Doubles are a hoot, got my first bass / bream double earlier this year.

Ended up not going. Took my oldest deer hunting instead. It was still fun though. Been tying some more. Will post more pics soon. Thanks for the compliments. I found the pre-shaped hopper bodies at Bass Pro. Makes tying poppers real easy.
