Do spinning rods have their own guide placement charts and where can I find one? I fear this is a dumb question, but one I have no answer to.

Give this a spin (I’m sorry … can’t help it!!)

Top of the page “New guide concept - spinning rods” good detailed explanation. Good articles on other aspects of rod building, too.
Spinning rod? Hmmmmm.

Thanks! I’m building a spinning rod for my nephew, not for me. LOL! It will probably be a week befor eI can take it for a spin.

I now use the Fuji Concept system, mentioned above. It is based more on the spiral movement of the line off the spinning reel than the actual rod, but it seems to work. There are a lot of guide charts out there including those mentioned. Mudhole also has a link to a guide chart. Whether you use a guide chart of the Concept system, I would still to a Static Stress Distribution Testto make sure there are no flat spots.
Here is a link to a more detailed explanation of the “concept” and why the guides are placed the way they are.
