spinning deer hair

I’m new to this message board thing, so, here goes. Does anyone know an easy way to spin deer hair? Oh yeah, I’m pretty new to fly tying. I’m trying to tie a mudder minnow. Thanks for any help.

Chris Helms has deer hair information. Chris spins on a bare hook (no thread) packs and adds a halfhitch after each amount of hair added.BILL

For general “how to” spin deer hair, Chris Helm’s DVD called “Spinning Deer Hair” is a great one. I was having trouble spinning, I bought the DVD and some good hair from Chris and proceeded to spin this . .
