I would like to be in too! Chad and I will be driving together so I hope that I can make you all proud. Don’t know what to tie yet but I am Sure that something will hit me, probably Chad.
A couple tyers have dropped out due to not being able to attend Sowbug. If you know people who will be attending Sowbug who’d like to participate but are not active on this board please invite them to do so.
As for toe-tagging the flies, it helps everyone know who tied what. Please put your email address on the tag, so that fellow swappers can contact you for recipe if desired.
My wife Dee (aka coffinfly) would like to join this swap. She will either tie a sowbug or a coffin,in honor of my midge brother I will tie a biot midge, and a zebra midge ( I know that is biot’s go to midge pattern)
Lets go fishin

…fly tying is the next best thing to fishing; it is the sort of licking of the lips that eases a thirsty man in the desert
Count me in Mike. I will be there tying. Pattern to be determined. Maybe a smallmouth spey???
Often the greatest growth takes place under the hardest of circumstances. Look deeply to learn the lessons of the coldest, most painful times, for within them lies your greatest potential for transformation
Still have a week to sign-up for this swap. If you have friends who will be attending, encourage them to sign-up. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone at Sowbug… who knows, maybe even do some fishing.
I’m going to leave the swap open with this caveat, everyone should tie 15 flies to swap (based on a goal of 12 participants)… Since this is an in person swap you never know when someone will want a couple extra of a certain pattern and it’s nice to be prepared.
Thanks for a great swap, Dee and I really enjoyed it. It was great to meet some fellow FAOL tiers as well as say hello to friends. It was also great to finally get outfished by you at Norfork. Maybe next time we can have over an hour on the river, and it won’t be so blasted cold!
