Sore shoulder and thumb

Hey all,

Smallie season is officially herre in Minnesota. Went out yesturday with three of my friends and floated on of our local rivers. I have to tell you you that it was one of the best fishing days in my life. The weather was perfect, the water was cool and we landed at least 150 smallies between the four of us. Most of them being in that 14" - 16" range.
We took most of them on topwater poppers or sliders and I took a few on my old standby the “flashdancer”.
The only problem is that by the end of the float we were all too tired and sore to fish anymore. I know that my wrist and shoulder were plain wore out from all of the casting and fighting. To top it all off my thumb is still raw from lipping all of those bad boys.
If I couldn’t drink left handed I’d really be in trouble.

YES!

Kevin,

I’ve got to say it … please tell me that someone in your groups said at some point “Guys, It just doesn’t get any better than this”.

Thanks for the post; I’ll be heading that way in a couple of weeks and I can’t wait.

Yea,
It was kind of hard to talk were your just sitting on your toon grinning like an idiot, but we all said it more than one time. But un-like the old beer commercials, the Swedish Bikini Team didn’t show up.

Be sure to hold a cold beer can in your left hand to ice that sore thumb. Keep replacing the can with a fresh cold one as necessary. I had the same experience last weekend with largemouths.

Ahhhhh, the old “sandpaper thumb”. Wear it like a trophy.

I never drink…

Left handed

Chuck;
Sleep well, ol’ pal…
Tomorrow will be a new day and we never know what excitement lies ahead…

Snoopy;
Actually, I can’t tell one day from the other…

LOL! What a terrible problem to have!

Trouts don’t live in ugly places

My sympathies…

Kevin,
Smallies are SOOO much fun, as you know much better than I! You’re gonna have to soak that thumb in alcohol as mentioned before…I would suggest from the inside out. The pain associated with “excessive” catching is surely enjoyable…especially when it involves quality smallies, as your outing did.
