yes, its not for everyone. buy only what you can afford or what you want to pay. no need to discourage other people from buying one.

Me with one of those would be like a whittler with a surgeon’s scalpel. For that type price one of those motorized Nor-vices would allow you to put some change back in your pocket. But it is a beautiful tool.

I agree that it looks a lot like a LAW Bench Vise, but priced a bit lower I believe. I’ll stick with my Snowbee-Waldron Vise until I hit the Lottery, then I’ll one of each.

Nice looking vise if you’re willing to pay that much. I’ve got an old herters, a couple of Thompson A’s, and my now 4 year old Dyna-King Kingfisher. My wife just can’t understand a few hundred for something that holds a hook while you wrap thread and feathers on it LOL.

Someday maybe I’ll kick out for a Barracuda but I’m happy with what I’ve got, plus it lets me buys more materials.

OK my two cents, I don’t see anything innovative in this vise, it looks like some of the parts of many different vises put together. Am I missing something?. If any of us truly wanted one of these I think we could all swing it. Most of us have some other toy we could sell to buy one. We all put our money where our priorities are. If you spend hours a week at the vise and want one of these, I am sure you will find a way to pay for it. For me it wont do anything a peak or danvise or Regal wont do, for my tying I will stick with my regal.

Thanks for the side by side. All things considered, I prefer the LAW to the CAE, but since Lawrie isn’t taking orders for his handbuilt vice anymore it’s kind of a moot point.

Since Lawrie is retiring and will no longer be making his LAW Bench Vise, the DamaSeal vise by Farouk looks like a winner. How can one not appreciate a finely crafted tying tool made from Damascus steel. It will surely be a work of art as well as a tying tool.
