Here is greenwells glory with a TUE style hook
I’ve added a little yellow prism to the throax area…the yellow silk will turn olive when wet.

Those are nice looking flies by both of you! I’ve not tried Clyde style patterns, but I think I might give them a go once I get my kit sorted out again.

If anyone is really keen to try the Clyde style, get John Reid’s book ‘Clyde Style Flies’, it is available at a very reasonable price, about $30.00 I think from Coch-y-bonddu Books, or try ABBooks.

For the Tummel style there are no specific patterns, any of the traditional patterns tied even more sparsely.

I think mid to late 1800’s
They are taken from Lawrie’s “Scottish Trout Flies”.
The Clyde flies c. 1880, the Tummel c. 1890.
On second thoughts here is the complete picture.
Although I would recommend buying the book, the picture without the text is like looking at
somebody else’s party through a window.

It is not a great picture, but it does give an idea of the flies.
It is interesting to note, there does not seem to be much difference in the body size
between the Tweed and the Clyde. Maybe the more radical reduction in size of
the Clyde flies was a later development.

Tied with a black throat rather than red would make this just a Butcher rather than a Bloody Butcher. Both are good small fish imitations.
