I’ve only been building for a short time, and I haven’t built a rod for myself yet! I gave my very first rod to an uncle who had an old kinda crappy glass rod, the next was a refurbish for my brother, now the same uncle wants me to build one for his son for christmas, not to mention refurbishing another one of his rods. Am I the only one who’s going down this road? LOL
I believe it’s a long line, Harebear!!
Over the years I’ve accumulated a number of rods for myself and have quit counting those I’ve built for others…I can’t count that high!!

I’ve built about a half dozen rods so far and ended up giving everyone of them as a present.
I also recently was asked by a local realtor to build several rods,wrapped in his company colors as gifts to an agent and a client.
I figure I will end up with a free blank out of the deal.

:twisted: Come one come all! Join our merry little madness. Building/refinishing rods is like tater chips. One just aint gonna do it. Look at Photojoe. Hes so far gone hes now working in a rod shop!

If that uncle’s old crappy glass rod is a Fenwick, you may want to think about refurbishing it.
