some soft hackles

these were some of the effort from today.

Rick

and a great effort it was

Hi Rick,

Nice collection. I would suggest having some unweighted ones as well. Soft hackles drifted in the surface film, or just under, can be deadly during the early part of a rise.

Nice. Keep tying and fishing the softies. You will not be disappointed.

May I suggest the linked method of tying in (and securing) hackle. It leads to smaller heads and is more efficient (IMO). Your flies are fine, but maybe the method linked will make them even ‘tidier’.

Nice tyes!

You will enjoy fishing soft hackles, they work very well.

What type of hackle are you using?

Take care,
chris

I have about 6 different partridge, chuckar and grouse skins that I am using.

Can you explain what the “linked method” is? I am not familiar with this. I am a fairly new tier and I am struggling with getting my soft hackles to look right.
