Some Bing Lempke Flies

Byron,

That FOTW entered into the conversation because I was pointing out that fly tyers are inventive people and that other fly tyers had developed a tool for use in tying extended bodies. I previously referenced similar tools illustrated and photographed in early fly tying books. At any rate, the tool connected my posts to the topic of the Lempke flies.

Well, anyway…Would you consider sending the mag with pictures? I’ll pay postage both ways. A loan for a couple days.

Byron,

Nothing personal but I have had experience ‘loaning’ books and magazines. Some years ago I lent some magazines published by PA in the 1930s. These magazines had fantastic fly fishing covers and articles by the likes of Charlie Fox, Marinaro, and their PA contemporaries. Never saw that guy again nor my magazines. Hence, I learned my lesson and do not loan things that I cannot replace. Sorry.

Perhaps I may try and take some photos and figure out how to post. If I do I’ll let you know.

Allan

Allan, do you have a scanner? If so you can e-mail a scan of the magazine page very easily with windows. There is an e-mail icon at the top of the “my scans file” in windows under “my documents”.

Okay. Let’s see if this works. Here are photos from the FLY TYER magazine with the article by Cordes/Lempke. Best I can do.

Hope these come out okay and answer some questions.

I tried to edit the post above but was unsuccessful. Here’s the 5th photo which is titled, “View of Flies”
