my first string vise is a renzetti traveler fitted w/ midge jaws. it resides on my tying desk in the den. I use this for trout flies #16 and smaller. I also regularly use a peak for larger flies and streamers. it also handles smaller hooks well. this vise is kept on a tray so I can move it about the house. sometimes I’ll tie while watching sports on tv, sometimes I like to set it up at the dining room table.
Because I love my Griffin Montana Mongoose! I used several other vices before I got the Griifin, and none of them were close to what this jewel does. It does everything I want, and then some. I use it exclusively.
