Bamboozle,
Having Alex on the Team is certainly unique in MLB. There are a number of Teams that don’t have that much of an operating budget and could not handle his salary. I’m not a fan of paying ONE player a lot more money than the other players, because even if it doesn’t show on the surface that it’s a detriment, it could divide the Team to a certain extent. But Alex isn’t the issue, the new Coach is. I’ve followed Baseball my whole life and I think it’s important to MLB that the Yankees become successful. Yankees vs Boston is the BEST game to watch!

You got that right. Love them or hate them here are a few facts:[ul]
*The Yankees pay more than 100 million in revenue sharing and MLB payroll taxes to baseball’s other 29 teams.
*The Yankees also rain cash on teams they visit. The Yankees average road attendance was 38,000; the most of any MLB team; 10,000 more than the MLB average.
- The Yankees star power helps MLB negotiate rich TV deals.[/ul]
It no coincidence that baseball’s resurgence coincided with the most recent Yankee glory years which began in 1996.
I would like to take this moment to thank the owners, players and fans of Major League Baseball for making the following possible:

For the record my favorite sports are Fly Fishing, Spin Fishing, Hunting, Ice Hockey, American Football, local dirt track auto racing and way, way, way down the line, behind too many other sports to list here, comes Major League Baseball. Just my humble opinion.

Eric,
I wish I had a comeback for that PURPLE Monster!! I am going to have to do some searching. Do you think those Smilies in the raft can row fast enough??
Doug
Yes because they are U.S. Army Ranger smilies!

NEWS FLASH; Yankees player Alex Rodriguez is opting OUT of his contract, which means the Yankees are going to lose Alex to another Team and also the Yankees are going to lose 20 mil they would receive from Alex’s previous Team, the Texas Rangers.
The worst nightmare for the Yankees is if the Boston Red Sox signed him.
Doug
While NOT a fan of NASCAR I am a huge fan of Formula 1 auto racing and follow it MORE intensely than baseball. I never watch NASCAR but I did watch the last 20 laps of the last race at Talladega and I have to say; it was one of the most dang exciting sporting events I watched in years!
Maybe just maybe NASCAR puts on a better show!
I only follow two sports with any real passion; baseball and F1. When the seasons end which was last week for F1 and last night for baseball; I’m done with sports until spring!
Personally the Sox WS victory is no surprise to me; I have been predicting it all season. I also predict they will be in contention for the next few years as well with or without Ahole Rod.
Oh well the long winter of no sports begins BUT…
…fishing NEVER ENDS for me!
In a couple of weeks fishing season will be winding down, amazingly just about the same time college basketball begins…
The Final Four is the first weekend in April, again just about the same time fishing season starts to get rollin’
Coincidence, I think not
Synchronicity
Dud:
Put on your wool socks and ski cap and come down to PA. The fishing NEVER ends here for the hardy.
“Brackets…?”
“Brackets…?”
“I don’t got to show you no stinkin brackets!”
