I need some help. I read an artical about a snail pattern somewhere. Now I can’t remember where it was.Getting old I guess.
Does anyone have a snail pattern or a site I can check out
in attempt to find what i’m looking for.
well - here’s one …
was going to try to describe it - figgured - hey - just go tie one up for you.
Hook - Mustad 3399 #12
Tail - white marabou
Body - crystal chenille
eyes - beadchain
head - dark tan dubbing
antennae - golden biots
Shown to me by a buddy up here - works fine on a number of fish (warm and cold water). It’s more than simple to tie … I’ve found the Tail to be a key feature - resembling an emerging snail (maybe?). Whatever, it does have a definate effect on the success of this fly. Anyhow - the antennae, with or without - doesn’t seem to matter.
hope this works for you,

Here is a snail article.
Thank you for the replies.
I did find the site that I had read with the artical about the Floating Snail. Its on flyline.com
I’m not up on all the computer stuff so I don’t know how to post a direct link.
Although I will give these patterns a try also.
Once again thank you all.
