Yesterday evening I flyfished a small river and an adjacent pit. In addition to Largemouth Bass, Crappie, Green Sunfish and Bluegills, I landed both Smallmouth Bass and Smallmouth Buffalo.
Uggh!!! Never ending rain has blown out everything here.
Err, what I mean to say was “Nice!”
Sounds like you had a great day Dave! what flies were working best for you?
aa
In the river, a foam popper took all the Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, and Green Sunfish.
In the pit, I mixed it up and caught fish on a variety of patterns. Most fish were caught on weighted patterns…nymphs, baitfish, and attractor patterns. The Smallmouth Buffalo hit a Black Ops (you can check out that pattern on Missouriflies.com). Bass, crappie, and bluegills seemed to like a white woolly bugger with a pink brass beadhead and pearl mylar “hackle”.
Nice looking catch. Thanks for the report and the info on the flies that worked for you.
Nice catching!
Dude!
OK I seem to need at least 10 characters so… DUDE!
