Small, Dark, and Buggy

Is it a little black stone? Maybe. A tiny, dark caddis? Sure. A midge? Why not. Hell it could probably even pass for a little flying ant. Not all attractors need to be big and foamy!

Hook: Firehole 413, size 18
Thread: Veevus 14/0, Black
Abdomen: Veevus black holographic tinsel covered with Solarez Bone Dry
Thorax: Ice Dub, Black Peacock
Wing: Natural Mallard tied Wonderwing style
Hackle: Black

Youโ€™re right, it could be all of those. Very nice and versatile fly.

Thank you. I need to just fill a box with patterns like this. Really take the guess work out of what to tie on.

Looks like one of those all purpose flies that catches fish in a wide variety of conditions.
