Hans Weilenmann’s post of his “Jacob fly” made me think a somewhat similar design might work well when tiny PMD’s are being taken from the film of the water.
Hans’ fly was apparently meant to imitate a diptra insect (the common midges).
Mine, of course, not tied as well, but I think it will work as a newly emerged (or crippled) PMD. This is on a Gamakatsu # 18.
The ribbing is hard to make out in the dubbing, but it is a pearl flash mylar.
