Single winged dun/spinner article?

A guide I was talking with the other day mentioned that one of his clients did very well with a BWO pattern tied with a single wing that lay flush in the film. Now I distinctly remember reading an article within the last two years on exactly such a pattern but I’ve searched high and low and can’t find the article. I want to say it was called a “profile” spinner or something like that, but can’t recall exactly.

Does this jog anyone else’s memory? Can anyone provide a citation for this pattern or have come across something similiar? One of these days I really need to figure out a way of indexing all those back issues…

Thanks.

whatfly,

Sounds like a Kelly Galloup Cripple Spinner. Here for more info:

That is a very nice fly, the K. I. S. S. principle in action.

Hans,

That was not the pattern I was looking for, but that may well have been the pattern the guide was thinking of because he mentioned Kelly’s name as well.

Dank u wel!
