Simple Foam Caddis SBS

Was going to call it the PetroChemicalByproduct Caddis but PCB is probably not a good name choice. Size up one and this would work as a passable Spruce Moth.

hook - Dai Riki 305 #14
thread - Danville 6/0 tan
body/head - 1mm foam tan
wing - Congo Hair tan
thorax - dubbing tan (optional - helps the hackle lay better)
hackle - barred cream

Part 1

mash barb, start thread; cover shank and return to eye

tie in foam strip (1/2 gap width) forward over eye

brush shank with Super Glue, fold back/create head; tie down, wrap to bend

wrap body, tie off/trim

tie in a hank of CH; crosswrap

tie in hackle, sweeping wing back

Part 2

dub thread/dub thorax

wrap hackle; tie off/trim, half hitch x 2, SHHAN

trim hackle underneath/trim wing

ScottP,

Thanks for another great pattern! Is this one of your inventions?

Mike,

This one would kill up in the Whites.

Alberto,

Thanks. Not my invention. I borrowed parts from a few different patterns.
