Last fall I bought my wife a pair of mens freestone waders. To get the fit she wanted she bought a pair with size 12 feet. She wears a 7.5. Tried of hearing her complain about her feet hurting, from the extra stocking feet, I called Simms to find out what model they would customize. They told me the women’s freestone model. I explained to the lady my wife didn’t like the fit of the womens sizes and went with a men’s. She said she understoood, asked what size bootie she need, I told her. she told me to ship those waders back to Simms, I did. Well after a short 2 week turn around and 50.00 she has exactly what she wants. Now I have to gether out on the water to try them out. Talk about customer service and saved me a bundle.

Doug;
You are right I owe SImms big time. I now have a pair of Simms waders for myself. Such an excellent company. This experience with Simms has lead me to belive that I will pay a few more dollars for thier items, worth the price and an excellect american value.
I really like my Simms waders. It’s good to know that this company that backs up their product.
That is good to hear. I to prefer the mens to the womens (more features number one). I have a 36" inseam so it is hard to find a pair that the crotch isn’t at my knees. I went with Men’s Medium with a men’s size 9 bootie. A little closer than your wife, but still a pain. I normally wear a size 4 to a 6 in women’s so these things definitly make my BUTT look big, but they work and I can layer for the winter gigs.
I did have a chance to barrow the Simm’s Freestone at the lodge and I really like the way they fit (except the foot) They are much lighter than my Pro Guides and the legs seem thinner (width wise, not so balloonie).
I know my next pair will be Simms or Willie J, but hearing your story has me leaning Simms. Thanks!
Only bad thing is I will have to buy new boots if the bootie actually fits LOL
We each have a top of the line jacket by them. Unfortunately we used them by salt water and the metal zippers got wet and corroded to the point they were useless. We sent them back and asked if maybe they had a plastic type zipper they could replace them with. No. But they did replace the zippers with the same fresh water only ones. Took about three months, guess they were busy.
