Sickles Foam Hopper (variation)

Added an underwing and changed the foam head tying sequence; when I try it [b]his way[/b] I get way too much buildup and the head looks lumpy.

hook - WFC Model 6 #6
thread - Uni 6/0 tan
rib - tying thread (body only)
body - 2mm foam tan
overbody -2mm foam dark brown
underwing - Congo Hair shiner tan
wing - deer hair
head - 2mm foam tan
legs - medium rubber brown
indicator - 1mm foam orange

body - 1mm foam tan
underwing - Congo Hair shiner tan

Both are excellent ties! Interesting to see the differences, and contemplate the pros and cons.

Thanks, Dave. Although neither fly is difficult to tie, version 2 takes a bit longer and 1mm foam is a little harder to come by.
