Show off your travel tying kit

I’m looking for ideas on building a travel tying kit. Please, those of you that have either built or put together such a kit, post your photos. It may help not only me but others who are looking for a project to build.

Son,

Can’t take photo but here’s what I’ve used and use. Initially I had a ‘Guide’ model Plano lure box. It holds quite a bit of stuff and should suit most peoples travel requirements. However, I wanted something that allowed me to carry an extension cord, a travel light and some files so my wife got me a plastic tool box. It’s a two piece that latches together and on wheels. Cannot recall the manufacturer just now. Top half has a removeable tray and deep well. The bottom half is all a deep well. There are pockets on the side and a swivel screw drawer in the middle. I use this middle section for spools or other small packs of materials. This box is very sturdy and I believe cost about $39.00 at WalMart, Lowes, Home Depot or similar type store.

Sorry JC I cant find any only a tying bench. I also have the plastic tool box from Sears, but I have lots of room while traveling. My friends use brief cases,one has a aluminum tool case(like a brief) $19 from a large hardware store.

tyeflies;
I’ve got one made by “Benchtop” and it’s just full of junk. I’ll clean it out and put it to service as my in house/travel kit.
Mine has to slide out compartmented drawers and an internal spool for a leadcord
There’s and interesting story about how these “Tool Caddies” came about but too long for here.
Bill;
It looks like the cases on the tables close up for transport. Look a little heavy though. The one in the first photo looks like it closes up like a gun case and could be stored flat in the trunk.

JC,

Those are very pleasing to the eye and functional. For a travel kit? I don’t think so, unless you plan on traveling to the nearest hernia treatment center. (-:

I’ve been lugging stuff around in an old daypack which is big enough for an ott lite and extension cord and whatever I might need for tying but it is completely inelegant and the stuff gets jumbled together. I’m hoping people can post some photos of their good solutions here.

JC–When the subject was a travel tying kit my thoughts were one for a car or RV, that is the brief case that I mentioned.
When I travel to club,shows or ones house I use the travel suit case type with wheels.
JC example are the wooden type that are easily made.
