Shot down again!

Hey all,
This happens to me on a daily occasion it seems like. I get into tying fevers, and think I come up with the " Hot New" caddis, mayfly, etc… pattern, only to find out it’s already been tied! Does this happen to anyone else?

Flytyer317;
So? Tie them anyway! Add a few twists of your own.

Hey Flytyer,
I should have told you ahead of time. Only I have the ability/knack to tie flys that have never been tied before.
I know, it’s a gift.

Mark

How many times have you heard, “there isn’t anything new?” Maybe in the high-teck world, but in fly fishing?

Hey Folks,

I still contend, where there is a will,
there is a way. G [url=http://www.flyanglersonline.com/lighterside/part182.html:398f1]http://www.flyanglersonline.com/lighterside/part182.html[/url:398f1]

GEE!! and I thought it was " where there is a will there is a relative." Trust fly tying to be different. Tied up a lot of originals in my time but always find someone who remembers his Grand Dad tying the same thing years ago. Such is life.Jax

I’m a much better Fly fisher when talking fishing, than when I’m Actually Fly fishing!

Just my opinion - until the caddis, mayfly, minnow, nymph and whatever else we tie flies to imitate changes in looks we cannot tie a new fly. We can only come up with a different way to tie it or a different material to use and in the end it will still be the same fly. Just something to think about just my opinion only.

Or you could be like me… I’m self-taught (by a lousy teacher)and I’m always experimenting with substitutions so virtually every recipe I try to tie turns out to be a brand new pattern.

hey guys and gals----I thoughtup/created this one recently to target Bluegill hungry Bass. How could anybody not being my clone have thought something so weird up?

Hatch- I would like to take you up on the Flying Pigs to target Salmonids offer. Can you do it in Hot Pink? Or all black with a red apple in its mouth? Lol! this could be an Egg Sucking Pig …or put the hot pink pig in front of a large black woolly bugger and call it a Pig Sucking Leech. suueee! My trip to Alaska is in September '06. plenty of time to tie…and maybe I could hook up some big hawg Salmon with 'em!

Steve

I fish, therefore I swam.

Sorry, featherchuker, that is dame Julianna Berner’s “Yellow Greenie” and was for trout so is not allowed for anything else.
