Sherbrook's Copper & Partridge SBS

A few minor changes to Geert Webrouk’s pattern (his was Copper & Grouse), mostly because I can’t find the damn copper tinsel that’s been on my bench for the past 2 weeks.

hook - Dai Riki 075 #8
thread - Danville 6/0 brown
tail - golden pheasant tippet
rib - small oval tinsel gold
underbody - dubbing
body - holographic tinsel copper
hackle - partridge
wing - turkey tail

Part 1

mash barb; start thread and wrap to bend

measure (gap width past bend) some GP tippet; tie in

tie in rib

dub tapered underbody

tie in tinsel

touching wraps to tail and back; tie off/trim

rib body; tie off/trim

tie in partridge by tip

Part 2

wrap, tie off/ trim

stroke fibers down, cover with a few wraps

prep 2 turkey tail segments (gap width); stroke tohether

measure (tips to tail); fold over body, tie in (haven’t done this in a while; can’t say I got it on the first try)

trim wing butts; whip finish, SHHAN

Scott

I have to get some tying done, I’m falling behind!
Mike

Tied this one with the regular copper tinsel body and switched the turkey wing from point-up to point-down, just to see (think I like the other way better); also got the wing more on top of the shank (less shoulder).

Scott
