Well, this ol’ man had some damp eyes when Maggie called to officially announce her engagement to Ryan! This young man had made a trail of red roses, rose petals, & notes with significant dates through his parents home, which ultimately led Maggie to her engagement ring.
I could not have ORDERED a finer man to win my daughter’s hand.
I LOVE you Maggie, & I LOVE you Ryan!
Now all I want is MORE Grandchildren!!!

Well, my dear friend…CONGRATS!!! Many, MANY, times over!!
If your lovely daughter is anything like her MOTHER and nothing like her FATHER, this “Ryan chap” has obviously gotten himself a fantastic young lady to call “his bride”!
However, “DADDY”, just remember… it’s TIME TO LET GO, no matter HOW many reasons you may come up with, YOU ARE NOT welcome to “join them on their honeymoon”!! (and, ESPECIALLY, if you plan on having any of these “grandkids” you’re hoping for!).
( “A great time, to show Ryan the fine art of Bluegill angling”, is not a legit excuse, either, for wanting to tag along on the honeymoon, Mikey, so don’t even try it).
Congrats, again, my friend. I’m sure you’re as hyped as you were on the phone last night, probably more so now, eh?!
She may be "someone else’s “wife”, soon, but she’s always be “Daddy’s Little Girl”.

In FACT… I was thinking… Why, on earth, put your poor bride and sweet Maggie through all this “wedding planning hassle”, when a “good team” could no doubt get 'er put together, plan it out and have 'er done, in like one MAYBE two days tops?
I’m thinking, myself, YOU of course, Joe V. and Dave as “the wedding planning team”.
Heck, can’t be any different, picking out a wedding dress, that a pair of good waders or a vest, right!? Joe, it goes without saying, plans the menu and we other 3 can see to the location, (Gate’s Lodge sounds fine with me too), flowers, (they grow all over Ohio, wild, as I remember it), the dress, (any good thrift stores in your are?) and the guest list!
Like I said, "One,MAYBE, two days tops and it’s all wrapped up!
I’m generous, and kind as you know so when you mention all of this to your daughter and your bride, YOU go ahead and take FULL CREDIT for it, as YOUR idea too I don’t mind.
Let me know, so we can get started and have it done by like Tuesday of next week.
Now Paul, what has Mike done to you that you want to get his daughter, who undoubtably has an irish temper, to pound knobs on his head. I know, I 've seen Mike’s picture in the Berkley hat thread and he might look better that way but that’s gotta hurt, man. ’ Course if it gets those grandkids on the way quicker it might be worth it.
Mr. Mike…and I mean that respectfully. Congrats to you and yours. It’s is somehow noticeable that for the moment somehow…at least in my mind…the bad news was blotted out and it’s time for good reports. Really affected me that way. What a great read. Now…don’t listen to Jimmy Dean’s song to his daughter as he passes her along. I forget the name of it…“Dear Daughter” perhaps. But it will make you remember a lot of things.
