looks pretty real to me!
WOW
I think I just found my best Caddis larva fly…
Looks great and easy to tye…
I don’t fish nymphs and such. Seeing as how there are few, if any, hatches.
But that could be a good grub worm!
Everyone should go to the site referenced and look at the pic and see that there are two imitations and one real bug. I had to take a real double-take. What a great looking bug. I only wish the pics were a little clearer and there were more detailed instructions. I’m sure I can figure it out, but any time there’s more info it helps.
Thats a nice looking larva imitation, I think I will make some but use a black bead instead of gold. Thanks for posting the link.

I was looking at the real bug, and trying to figure out what he did to get the groove down the middle! Those are good looking grub worms.

you can click on the first photo and it enlarges to fit your screen.
what details are you missing??
I like the idea of splitting the yarn…basically a dubbing loop:cool:.
The groove is actually one of the main circulatory “ateries” for that larva. A lot of insects have them but they’re especially apparent on caterpillars etc… If you watch carefully enough you can usually see the rythmic contraction moving down the length of the vein.
