As those of You who attened the Michigan Fish-In know, Jean was talking about the “Cash for Clunkers” program, Well her 94 Blazer is no longer calling Kalamazoo home.
On our way home she wanted to stop in Lansing at “Sundance” where we bought my 97 Sonoma, they had Colorado’s at the lot and she hadn’t been able to see one in person here in Kalamazoo.
They brought one around for her to see and it was the exact color she wanted and it has almost all the option’s she wanted, lacking only Heated seats and mirror’s. So we ended up taking it home with Us.
She even let’s me drive once in awhile:p
Nice. Looks like plenty of ground clearance for those seasonal roads that lead to the unmentionable sections of the Ausable! I’m totally envious - me with my limited econobox.
Bill forgot to add the rest of the story, about the color! I was really wanting to get one in Copper Metallic. When we first saw it (Tues. on our way home from the fish in) and I drove it I had my dark sunglasses on, and I actually thought it was copper. Then on Thurs. when we went to pick her up and they drove it around, my first thought was Holy Crap it’s ORANGE!(Of course I didn’t have any sunglasses on)
Oh well, at least I’ll be able to find it in the parking lot when I’m 80!
Nice looking truck. I considered the Colorado when I was shopping for a new ride 4 summers ago. I ended up with a Saturn VUE. I’m curious. Did you get the 4 or 5 cylinder? I was kinda scared of the new technology of the engine. I guess they are working out OK though.
Enjoy your new ride. It looks like a good’un. Jim
Jim,
It’s got the 5 cylinder, it has about the same power as my 97 Sonoma with the 4.3 6 cylinder which has about 205000 miles on it so far.
When they told me it had 5 instead of 6 my first reaction was “HUH!”
We will see if it lasts.
