season over

Well, I guess my trout season is about over until next fall. I went out this afternoon to our local stream that gets trout stocked in the winter. It was hot, we have moss setting up, and the bluegills, bass and carp are back out and active. It just isn’t the same as earlier when the trout were the only activity in there. Plus that moss has a funky smell to it. I guess it is time to change over to the warm water mode for the year.
Maybe we will get another good freeze or 2…

Same here. The trout will die soon becasue of the heat and over fishing. Im excited though, the trout eat all my carp chum and they bit all my streamers intended for bass.

I may have been a bit premature on calling the season over. We had a bit of rain, and overnight temperatures below freezing, so I went out and tried again with my 2 weight. I caught 15-20 from 12-16 inches, and ended up with a 19" lunker (my personal best from this stream).
