Fished a sz 12 black dubbed soft hackle I tied myself ( been trying to tie for about 3 months )
Caught 6 Bluegills all to small to keep and missed 3 strikes all in an hour and a half. Not to bad for a short time on the water and catching fish on a fly I tied myself was way to cool.
The weather is going to improve by mid week and if the work schedule allows it I will be out again.
Tight Lines
Nice going, nothing like your first fish on your own tie. Now for gosh sake retire that fly to a place on honor. In years to come you can look at it and remember the feeling of that great day. Also it will become a benchmark to show you how far your tying has come along. Don’t you just love spring?
