I’m thinking about purchasing a Scierra hm3 9ft 5wt 4 piece. Does anyone have any experience with this company or rod?

I’ve got the HM3 in the 9’ 6wt and so far I’m loving it. I’ve paired it up with a Lamson Litespeed reel (the color of the reel is so close to the reel seat that from any distance at all they look like one piece 8) ) and either a SA Gpx floating line (in 6wt.) or a Uniform Sink+ type I. Loads just fine with the 6wt. Gpx. So far I’ve used it for lobbing big flies at wiper, white bass, and largemouths, as well as more delicate presentaions to carp. Haven’t had a chance to chase trout with it, but it should do just fine.
Hey, thanks for the feed back. I’m pairing this 5wt up with a Cabelas RLS reel and putting the new sharkskin S.A. line on it. Its going to Montana with me this spring. Beaverhead, Bitterroot, ClarkFork!!! Muy Bueno! :lol:
The sharkskin should be a real good match for that rod as well. Let me know what you think of the RLS reel. I’ve seen 'em and played with them, but I haven’t had the chance to fish one yet. Looks like a great reel for the price.
Hey Steve, Sciera rods have become very popular in N.Z over the past few years and everyone I know who has one swears they are great. I have one of Sciera’s lower cost “Ron Thompson” brand 10ft 7wt rods and it is fantastic, it has become my go to rod on the Tongariro over some much more expensive rods.
