If you recieve a E-Mail from the IRS, DO NOT respond to it!
Go to the IRS site and Forward the bogus E-Mail to their ‘phising’ department.
These jerks wanted my Debit Card info and then they would be so kind as to give me a ‘LOST’ refund for 91 bucks. These idiots even have a Link to a actual IRS Form.
Doug
Hey Doug,
I actually did respond to that e-mail but unfortunately cannot post a verbatim of my reply here due to the “family” aspect of this forum. I, like most of us here , get my share of this garbage. For some reason this one struck me as the most brazen and insulting. Just how stupid do they think we are/I am ??
Mark
PS: This is the e-mail we are referring to-
Good News,
>
> After the last annual calculation of your fiscal activity we have
> determined that you are eligible to receive a tax refund of $93.82.
> Please submit the tax refund request and allow us 2-4 days in order
> to process it.
>
> A refund can be delayed for a variety of reason. For exemple (invalid
> records or applying after the deadline). The good news is that IRS
> will make this refund directly to your visa and/or mastercard linked
> to your checking/savings account instead a check or a direct deposit.
>
> To access the form for your tax refund, please continue to our secure
> form “Tax Refund V-M”.
>
> Important: Do not use credit and/or american express or discover cards.
> Only cards that are linked to your checking/savings account are accepted.

Mark,
Like you, I’ve received loads of this garbage, but the IRS one went to far. I think it’s the first time I will be rooting for the IRS to nail these low lifes!
This kind of Scam could hurt Seniors and it makes me MADDDDDD!!!
The nice thing about Predators and Scammers is they leave a trail and they will reap what they sow!!
Doug
Last year I received a refund from the IRS in almost the same amount due to a tax miscalculation by my tax software. Prior to receiving the refund I was notified by US MAIL that the refund was forthcoming within two weeks. This was after filing electronically, not manually.
THE IRS WILL ALWAYS CONTACT YOU BY US MAIL, NOT BY E-MAIL. This may seem archaic in the information age, but this way you have a paper trail of any tax query/notification activity.
Joe
I actually received the same scam, which is really stupid as I am Canadian and we don’t have an IRS! These Bozo’s aren’t rocket scientists.
I hope the IRS does track them down then for the next 50 years or so does a complete audit on them and all their friends. Now that would be sweet justice.
When did you guys receive them? Was it after requesting a free fly tying CD?
I don’t suppose that was it but they could have been mining for email addresses
Gnu Bee Flyer,
YOU GUYS DON’T have a IRS???
Would it be OK if we all came to visit, Permanently???
Thanks,
Doug and the ‘Gang’
Ducksterman,
WHAT happened to Sergio Garcia???
That is a headache of a Golf Course!
Doug
Doug…that was really fun watching…did you hear that whining interview by Garcia?
Yes! Here he is at the classiest Golf Tournament, sounding like a baby!
I can’t get that one drive out of my mind, the one by Harrington or Garcia that landed on the bridge and almost made it across before falling in the drink!
That shot right there is one reason I am not a Golfer!
