a fishing vest Thursday! A fellow in the infusion room, undergoing chemotherapy, proudly showed off his new use for a Cabelas vest. He is on the continuous infusion, and after having the catheter connected to the port get in the way of everything, and the container flop around on his waist for a few hours, banging into the sink when he shaved, or brushed his teeth, he put on his fishing vest, plunked the chemo pack in the front pocket, ran the catheter up and around the back of his neck and down where it connected with his port. Hands free, waist free, out of the way! I thought it pretty ingenious!! He did say that when it worked well, he went down and bought a new vest because his well used one was quite odoriferous! Maybe someone here knows someone undergoing chemo where this might come in handy. I thought it was pretty darned slick!!
Great idea - pass it on folks!

Good one,
My chemo tip. When my hair started to fall out, I cut it short, then used a lint roller to keep the “droppings” under control. Once or twice a day and you don’t have hair every where. Was a big hit in our infusion room last year.
i used a fanny pack for my 5fu infusion pump. sleeping with it wasn’t a problem, i slept in a recliner.
fortunately i didn’t loose any hair.
AND, as an aside, to ALL of you who have fought or are currently fighting this disease, I wish you well and pray you WIN the battle.
