Saltwater use with Lamson Radius ?

Can the Lamson Radius be used in saltwater?

Yes they can, work will in saltwater.

Anthony,

Welcome aboard! And thanks for the reply.

I have used a Litespeed for years in salt. Only complaint I have heard is that the screws used to hold the mounting foot to the reel are sort of small. A guide told me he had a customer break off one of the screws and the reel went sideways with a fish on causing him to loose it. Saltwater may have gotten into the joint and caused the screw to pit. I would be sure to squirt some WD40 into the joint after you wash it off with fresh water. BTW that is one thing you should always do after a salt excursion - wash off the whole reel in fresh water. I have never had trouble with mine. If the reel is an older model, make sure that you have the latest stainless steel one way clutch in it if your model uses them. Lamson will send them to you free.

Godspeed,

Bob

Thanks for the replies. I picked up a Lamson Radius 3.5 for an 8wt rod I just bought.
