Salt Water Fly Fishing - Florida Keys?

Hi

My fiancee and I are planing our honeymoon the end of sept - beginning oct, 2010. We are thinking about going to the florida keys. So I figured, what better time to try out some salt water fly fishing?

I have never fished much outside of canada so I’m looking for some advice on:
where to go in the Keys?
Who to ask for a guide?
and what type of salt water fly fishing would be good that time of year?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

all the Keys are good from Miami(Biscayne Bay) thru Key West…average price of trip will be about $500-$600 a day…all fishing should be good but everything depends on the weather…Sept/Oct is hurricane season so you never know…I assume you would want the glamour species…TarBone.org is a good place to start to look for Capt IMO…these guys are proven and routinely tag bonefish and tarpon for research…this would put them in position for permit confrontations as well…

Great thanks for the advice! I’ll start there, and yes I am interested in fishing for bonefish, tarpon and permit.

Tell them what you want: bonefish, permit, tarpon, snook, speckled trout.
Expect to pay around $600 for a full day.

Thanks everyone. I have some great options to choose from here.
