Salmonfly Nymph color

If you were creating a salmonfly nymph using chenille for the body, what color chenille would you use that would look be the “right” color when wet?

Thanks for the help. (We don’t have a lot of salmonflies around here g)

The ones around my neck of the woods are very dark brown almost black. But there are many color phases to stoneflys. Check this site out, it has many good pictures of the live nymphs and adults.

It would probably pay to check with the locals as to the color variations in your area.
