Has anyone used these rods? If so, any opinions? How do they compare to other Sage’s?
I have a 6 weight FLI and really like it, Iuse a 4 weight TXL on smaller water.Took my 16 year old son to our friends flyshop to test cast 3 weight rods and he picked the V2 over the FLI and the TXL,so we are very happy with these 2 models.Hope this is of help to you.
I won a Sage VT2 here on FAOL last September & love it. I can’t compare it to other Sage rods, as it is the only Sage I have cast or fished. I own & have owned St Croix Legend Ultras & Orvis rods & the VT2 is absolutely the best I have used. I had trouble rollcasting UNTIL I used the VT2…of course, I am certainly no expert, but that rod makes even ME look better than I really am. I have it matched to an Orvis Battenkill Barstock with Rio Grand wf6f line. Nice performance & nice looking outfit. If you make it to our Michigan Fish-In in 08/06, you are more than welcome to fish it…this offer is also open to all you FAOLers!
